๐ What Does BODMAS Stand For?
BODMAS is a set of rules that tells you the correct order to carry out mathematical operations in any calculation. Without these rules, different people could get different answers to the same sum!
Note: D and M have equal priority (left to right). A and S have equal priority (left to right).

Without BODMAS rules, the same calculation gives different answers. For example: 4 + 3 ร 5
7 ร 5 = 35
4 + 15 = 19
Every maths exam in the UK uses BODMAS. Getting this wrong will cost you marks every time!
๐ข How Brackets Change Everything
Brackets are the most powerful tool in BODMAS. They override the normal order and force that part to be calculated first.

Always look for brackets FIRST in any calculation. Circle them on your exam paper before you start!

"Orders" means powers and roots. These come after brackets but before multiplication and division.

Expressions use letters to represent numbers. You apply BODMAS after substituting the values.
